PMP and CAPM

PMP and CAPM

The importance of successful project management in national and international projects is growing every day.  Project management competency and standardisation pioneered by the globally recognised Project Management Institute (PMI) is becoming increasingly popular and widely accepted in the UK and throughout the world.

Through the application of the PMI management methodologies and the techniques contained in their Body of Knowledge guide (PMBOK), best practice is assured providing increased schedule adherence, higher quality outputs and lower costs, leading to greater profitability.

A successful project team will use common terms of project management, providing the same communication language, which is particularly important for international projects, as well as the opportunity for benchmarking against other programmes.
PMI professional certification ensures you:

  • Ready to meet the demands of projects across the globe.
  • Solidify your skill set
  • Face project challenges
  • Increase your salary and earnings
  • Find a Project Management position in the UK or across the world with a PMI certification.
Which certification is right for you?

PMI’s Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® is a valuable entry-level certification for project practitioners. Designed for those with little or no project experience, the CAPM® demonstrates your understanding of the fundamental knowledge, terminology and processes of effective project management.

Whether you are a student, new to project management, changing careers, or already serving as a subject matter expert on project teams, the CAPM can put your career on the right path or take it to the next level.

CAPM Requirements

To apply for the CAPM, you need to have:

• A secondary diploma (high school or the global equivalent)

• At least 1,500 hours experience, or 23 hours of project management education by the time you sit for the exam

Project Management Professional (PMP)

PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential is the most important industry-recognized certification for project managers. Globally recognized and demanded, the PMP® demonstrates that you have the experience, education and competency to lead and direct projects.

This recognition is seen through increased marketability to employers and higher salary; according to the PMI Project Management Salary Survey–Seventh Edition, certification positively impacts project manager salaries.

The PMP recognizes demonstrated competence in leading and directing project teams. If you’re an experienced project manager looking to solidify your skills, stand out to employers and maximize your earning potential, the PMP credential is the right choice for you.

PMP Requirements

To apply for the PMP, you need to have either:

• A four-year degree (bachelor’s or the global equivalent) and at least three years of project management experience, with 4,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.

OR

•A secondary diploma (high school or the global equivalent) with at least five years of project management experience, with 7,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.

Acme and Deray Consultancy, whether preparing you for PMP and CAPM exams or not, teaches you Project Management principles and techniques based on PMI standards and the worlds the most successful methods.
